The Roland MC-101 is a Groovebox in a little jacket, finished with all the accessories found on older Roland drum machines, but what you see is not what you get! This mini magician is a comprehensive pocket-studio in a box! Since it can run for approximately five hours on just four AA batteries, sounds can be conjured, beats can be crafted and entire tracks can be sculpted on the fly with the Roland MC-101 Groovebox.
MC-101: The Impossibly Flexible Box
With the MC-101, you get a four-track sequencer, fully optimised for contemporary electronic music and 16 RGB pads to build loops and one-shots with drum, bass and synth sounds that can be freely combined with MIDI sounds. That the MC-101 can also weave the vintage Roland TR-808, TR-909, JUNO-106 and SH-101 is almost a given and if you want to throw in some self-made samples, load them up via the SDHC-card slot and assign them to the Sample Player included on each of the four tracks.
Effects on Every Possible Level
Adding effects to one of your beautifully crafted tracks, synth sounds or loops has genuinely never been easier. Drench your synth in chorus for a deeper sound then throw it into space with some delay or reverb, having already coloured it up with some overdrive, distortion or a tweaked simulated amplifier. Finally, squeeze the master channel through a bitcrusher, filter or compressor and share your newly conjured creation with the world by sending it to your DAW via the built-in USB audio interface.

The tools they included completely streamlined music production and now, Roland introduce its most advanced magicians: the MC-707 and MC-101.
