A tuba is the lowest sounding instrument in the family of brass instruments and comes in many different shapes. Baritones, euphoniums and bass tubas are similarly shaped but differ in height and sound. The euphonium and the baritone are sometimes called tenor tubas so as to point out their higher pitched sound compared to that of a bass tuba, often simply referred to as a tuba.
