Sennheiser's MKH 416 P48 shotgun microphone is lightweight, robust and remains reliable even under extreme temperature conditions thanks to the integrated RF condenser technology. This mic has a super-cardioid pickup pattern and the interference tube in front of the capsule ensures the focus is on capturing the higher frequencies. The MKH 416 P48 has a 3-pin XLR connection, operates on 48V phantom power, and comes complete with a windshield, clip, and storage pouch.

I purchased the Sennhesier MKH 416 to replace my Shure SM7B. Whilst the SM7B is a great microphone, it needs a ton of power (e.g. a pre-amp and a cloud lifter) but also you need it to be very close to you. This is great for podcasts, interviews but if you want your mic out of shot then not so great. With this Sennheiser MKH 416, as it is a shotgun microphone you can have it further away on a boom arm or mic stand. Just note that although these types of microphones have the holes in the side to cut out ambient noise to the sides, if you room is not well sound insulated it can sound a bit boomy. I had to fit the included wind protector to reduce the boominess and I am still playing with the levels of my pre-amp and my room's sound dynamics to get a great sound. I am sure for the pros this microphone is a doddle but for an amateur like me it takes a while to perfect the setup to get the best results.

Geheim wapen om akoestische gitaar op te nemen. Werkt (voor mij) een heel stuk beter dan een setje Neumann KM 84.

Dé shotgunmic voor video en broadcast! Zeer vlakke, neutrale klank; ideaal voor outdoor opnames van stem en ambience. Indoor zijn er betere mics te scoren, maar als all round shotgun doet ie zeker z'n werk. Goeie prijs ook bij Bax!

Een aantal dagen geleden binnen gekregen. Erg netjes verpakt. Mooie hardcase erbij met schuim op maat. Mijn eerste indruk is zeer positief. Mooi helder geluid en precies wat je van een nier verwacht. Verder is mijn gehoor niet absoluut genoeg om echt onderscheid te maken tussen deze microfoon en een (iets) goedkopere. Dus prijs kwaliteit verhouding durf ik niet te zeggen.
