Allmänt

Mackie's SRM1550 is another addition to the successful SRM series, designed specifically for use with the SRM 350 and SRM 450 active loudspeakers. Boasting a 15” woofer, a 3” voice coil, and a 1200-watt internal amplifier, the SRM1550 is not only built to make some noise, but it's also 'built like a tank', according to Mackie themselves.

Construction

As just stated, this subwoofer is built to survive the roughest parties. The sturdy poplar housing is made of 18mm-thick planks and fitted with a steel grill, which is what makes the SRM1550 so wearproof. What's more, for easy placement of a distance rod, there is a 35mm stand flange on top. Despite its impressive cabinet, the sub weighs just under 30 kilos in total.

Internal

A 1200-watt amplifier forms the heart of this subwoofer, which is surrounded by loads of technically-advanced gadgetry. For starters, the SRM1550 has what's known as Smart Protect DSP, which ensures that the power capacity is reduced if the subwoofer gets pushed over the top. It also features an integrated digital crossover that's optimised for use with the Mackie SRM 350 and SRM 450.

Mackie SRM1550 aktiv subwoofer
