This snare is part of Gretsch's New Classic series and offers an ultra-clear sound. Its 10-ply maple shell has a thickness of 10 mm and features 30-degree bearing edges with a slightly rounded outside edge. Combined, the wood type and the bearing edges provide the snare with a remarkably clear tone with maximum sustain.
Die-cast hardware for an optimal sound
The die-cast hoops and lugs of this Gretsch snare are made of a durable metal and enable you to tune the drumheads to the desired pitch. Not only can this die-cast hardware withstand prolonged tension, but the lugs and hoops have been designed to keep the tension rods firmly in place while you're playing, preventing them from coming undone due to vibrations and keeping the snare tuned to perfection at all times.

This snare drum has a Satin Walnut finish that consists of several layers of Nitrocellulose lacquer, providing a hard yet flexible and durable exterior that can be polished to a marvelous gloss.
