Synthesizer modules without keyboards are evolving. Rack modules are no longer being made as the desktop model is clearly more popular. When the first Korg Electribes came out in the late 90s, they represented a new wave of operating technology. The concept is still going strong today, as Korg has proven with the Electribe 2 Blue music production station. This machine is still an ultra-fast way to produce a track, and is chock-full of modern-day additions you won't want to miss out on!
Features of the Korg Electribe 2 Blue
Basically, this device is a pattern-sequencer with a synthesizer, or even more precisely, an analogue modelling engine with a PCM. With 24 voices at your disposal, you can achieve relatively complex arrangements. There are hundreds of oscillators that include conventional instruments such as percussion. You can edit everything with filters, modulation, and envelopes, which makes the Electribe a very comprehensive device indeed. But, that's not all—another advantage of this product line is that you can link multiple Electribes together!
What's new?
Korg has fitted this Electribe 2 Blue with a new operating system (v2) that features all kinds of new functions. For starters, you can now chain patterns, which was a highly-requested function by Korg users for live performances! There are about 400 bonus patterns available via Korg.com, which are sure to spark your creativity still further. What's more, these patterns as well as the update to the operating system are compatible with the entire line of Electribes from then and now!
