Allmänt
This model probably has one of the quirkiest designs among bass guitars: the Starcaster bass guitar. During the seventies, a limited edition of this semi-hollow bass with its offset waist (alternatively shaped body) and wicked humbucker pickups, appeared. Decades later, the Starcaster bass is back as part of Fender's Modern Player series with a superior sound, improved construction and unrivalled beauty. It is an ideal instrument for Fender fans that have a predisposition for peculiar designs.
Fender Modern Player Starcaster Bass Black: short-scale bass guitar
The thin semi-hollow body of the Fender Starcaster is made of laminated maple and features an alder Center Block - a solid wooden beam fitted in the centre and along the entire length of the body, separating it into two large sound chambers as it were, and providing this guitar with more tone and sustain. The front and back of the body of the Starcaster feature the same beautiful bindings that are also found around the characteristic F holes on the top. The C-shaped neck and 22-fret fretboard with black position markers are also made of maple. This semi-acoustic guitar's headstock features a quintessential Starcaster Black Accent Stripe, as well as a Fender logo.
Humbuckers
The black Fender Modern Player Starcaster Bass has two Fender Wide Range Humbucking Bass pickups, a three-position pickup switch, four controls with vintage-style knobs (a volume and tone control for each pickup) and a 4-saddle Fender Hi-Mass bridge. It is perfectly well-suited for country, jazz, blues and rock 'n' roll.
