Don't let it humble appearance fool you, the Peavey Classic 20 Micro Head is a forceful tube amplifier head packed with all the authentic sounds its iconic predecessor came with. Loved by many blues, country and rock musicians due to its versatile tonality, this Peavey effortlessly delivers any sound from vintage to modern and comes in a tweed-finished housing for a luxury look and with a number of new functions. Add that to a light weight and pure tube-driven sound and you'll quickly realise that the Classic 20 Micro Head can be rightfully called a jack of all trades.

The Classic 20 Micro Head: Versatile Tube Amplification

With 20 Watts of power and two channels at your disposal, you can sculpt a wide array of possible sounds. The extensive EQ section helps you to turn sparkling cleans into fat overdrive and, with a simple tap on the footswitch, you can unleash lingering reverb onto your sound. Two EL84 power amp tubes and three 12AX7/ECC83 preamp tubes enrich your tone with the kind of warmth and dynamics that only a tube amp is capable of while the TSI (Tube Monitoring System) uses LEDs to let you know when any of the tubes need replacing. Also, using the footswitchable volume boost, the signal can be injected with that bit extra power needed to deliver full, on-point solos.

Functionality

Take a look at the back panel of the Classic 20 and you'll find a buffered FX-loop for the integration of your favourite stompbox or processor, as well as a USB port for direct recording to a computer. The speaker output has two impedance settings (8/16 Ohms) and for those guitarists that aren't always able to be as loud as they'd like, there's the headphone jack with built-in attenuator to toggle the power down to 5 Watts or even a single Watt for fat overdrive without deafening levels of volume.
