How great would it be to have the quality of Yamaha combined with Line 6's advanced technology? You can now find out with the Variax Standard in Midnight Black. It is an ultra-rugged, amazing Pacifica guitar with the unique extras of the versatile Variax circuit. The short version is that you can use this guitar to mimic the sound of no fewer than 23 vintage instruments, both electric and acoustic ones. It is even equipped with a banjo and a sitar! What's more, the Line 6 Variax Standard allows you to fully change tuning by simply turning a knob, which is great for both studio and live performances. Say goodbye to hauling about many different instruments, this one Line 6 Variax Standard can do it all!
Line 6 Variax Standard Midnight Black: vintage guitar collection
Even without all its digital bits, the Variax Standard is still an excellent guitar. It is a disguised Yamaha Pacifica, fitted with a lightweight alder body and a comfortable maple neck with a thin matte lacquer. Additionally, a stable tremolo bridge, a Graph Tech string nut and string guides help to retain this guitar's tuning excellently. What's more, it is equipped with three Custom Wound Alnico V pickups for the classic sparkling sound. However, by simply turning the Model Bank knob you can transform this guitar to sound like one of 23 classic models, including T-model, Spank, Lester and Acoustic. Use the Alt Tuning knob to digitally tune the black Variax Standard in one of 11 built-in tunings.
Variax Workbench and Digital Interface
The Line 6 Variax Standard Midnight Black comes with Variax Workbench software, your personal Custom Shop for building your dream setup. The software allows you to combine 28 body types with 17 different pickups and thus create your unique sound and tuning. Out phase pickups, reverse or stack them - anything goes! All of your creations can subsequently be assigned to the controls on the guitar. Moreover, the VDI (Variax Digital Interface) allows you to link your guitar to your Line 6 POD HD, POD XT and POD X3 processors and Vetta II guitar amp with just a single cable. When you change a patch on the POD, the guitar automatically tunes to the right sound.

Ik heb hem gekocht als backup gitaar voor mijn JTV-89F.
Deze is iets lichter en heeft geen 24 frets.
En single coils ipv humbuckers, dat is natuurlijk wel een klank verschil.
Komt af fabriek uit de doos, dus afstellen is wel nodig.
Heb hem ff langs de lokale gitaartech gebracht en ook meteen locking tuners laten monteren.
Prima gitaar nu, die ook heel goed stemvast is nu.
De presets van de JTV-89F geladen en ziedaar de perfecte backup gitaar voor mij.
En als je in een coverband speelt is dit een geweldige gitaar.
Akoestische gitaar nodig, juiste knopje draaien en hoppa.
Wisselen tussen strat of LP, juiste knopje draaien en hoppa.
Drop-D stemming of halve toon lager spelen, juiste knopje draaien en hoppa.
En al die tijd sta je nog steeds met dezelfde gitaar in handen.
Ik hoor je denken "maar dat klinkt toch niet hetzelfde als de echte".
Klopt, maar klinkt wel goed en scheelt een hoop gedoe met instrumenten.
En natuurlijk scheelt dat ook een berg centen omdat je al die instrumenten niet hoeft te kopen en onderhouden.

Hij voldoet aan mijn verwachtingen ! Ligt fijn in de hand en is goed bespeelbaar!
De diverse stemmingen en modellen uitgeprobeerd , dit is best wel handig!
Spaart mij wat minder sleepwerk naar de oefenruimte .

Voor een stratocaster kloon is het al een erg fijne en goed klinkende en spelende gitaar!
Ik doe (nog) niets met alternatieve stemmingen, maar wel grappig dat je zo snel kunt wisselen.
De simulatie van andere gitaarmodellen werkt erg goed en het klinkt allemaal zeer mooi (via een Fender Mustang III V2).
Geen idee waarom dit een b-stock artikel is. De gitaar is gewoon splinternieuw en ik ben er erg blij mee!
