Allmänt
Fresh from the Fender Custom Shop, the Vintage Custom 1950 is a devoted copy of the very same, and very first model that Fender ever built. Just like the original, the body of the reborn Esquire has even been shaped from two pieces of pine using the classic sandwich construction. At 1.5-inches, this version also has a thinner body, while the 4-bolt neck fixing and lack of truss rod keep it as real and original as possible. The one piece neck has been specially sawn and finished with that unmistakable '50s U-profile.
The Vintage Custom 1950 Esquire: An Accurate Reproduction with Modern Playing Comfort
While the neck has been sealed with an authentic layer of nitrocellulose lacquer and fitted with a bone nut and 21 medium vintage frets, the compound fretboard radius takes a more modern twist. Starting at the old-school 7.25-inches at the nut and graduating to a more modern 9.5-inches at the body, this guitar offers snug playability alongside the assurance of supple string grip at the higher frets. And, just as with the original '50s Esquire, a single blackguard-style single-coil has been mounted at the bridge, and an accurate 3-way switch provides the freedom to flip from the full effect of the tone and volume pots, to the isolated effect of the volume pot, or on to the sound you get when you just cut them both out for direct output and maximum twang.
