This American Fender Telecaster offers you Custom Shop sounds for a Standard price. The American Standard Tele is equipped with a set of exclusive pickups you'll usually only find on the more expensive Custom Shop models. What is more, the wearing and playing comfort have been massively improved by giving the body a contour - like on a Stratocaster - to spare your ribs and abdomen. Furthermore, this guitar features a high-gloss black urethane lacquer and a rosewood fretboard. The rosewood gives it slightly warmer trebles than a maple version would. The American Standard Telecaster is delivered including a high-tech case, guitar strap, instrument cable and polishing cloth.

American Standard Telecaster: now with Custom Shop pickups

Fender also opted to upgrade the American Standard Telecaster with a set of Custom Shop pickups. The bridge position Broadcaster produces that famous, aggressive Telecaster bite without an excess of trebles. In the neck position, there's a Twisted Tele single-coil pickup that produces a fat Stratocaster-like sound with more output thanks to the longer alnico 5 magnets and the nickel-silver cover. Additionally, Fender used a no-load potentiometer as tone knob. In position 10, you'll feel a click and then the potentiometer takes itself out of the circuit completely. This provides that extra bit of clarity as well as the pure and raw single-coil sound of the bridge pickup. All in all, this American Tele sound better and more versatile than ever before.

Modern embodiment of a timeless classic

Even though they have a high regard for tradition, Fender often apply the latest technology to make their guitars sound and play even better. The neck of this American Standard Telecaster provides you with more comfort during playing thanks to its 22 medium jumbo frets, a relatively flat 9.5-inch fretboard radius and a Bi-Flex truss rod system. This allows for a very low action without clattering or loss of strings. The comfortable hand-rolled fret edges have of course been maintained on this guitar, but the vintage-style ash tray bridge has made room for a modern version with six adjustable Strat-type saddles for optimal intonation. The bridge is attached to the body with no fewer than 5 screws, creating an even better transference to the lightweight alder body.
