The Gibson Les Paul Modern is an elegant, seamless mash-up of everything that makes a classic LP sing and all of the tasty contemporary tweaks that make for irresistible playability. This high-grade stomper of an electric guitar boasts a mahogany body that's been given the full 'Ultra-Modern' weight relief treatment. This considerate method involves strategically placing cavities throughout the body, that are then sealed up by a vaulted maple top, keeping the classic tonal foundation intact while easing the weight.

The Modern Collection Les Paul Modern: Resistance is Futile

One of the more striking innovations of the LP Modern is the asymmetrical Slim Taper neck profile, which feels so at home in the fret hand, once you've picked it up, you're unlikely to want to put it down. Besides that, the ebony fretboard has been given a compound radius, which comfortably flattens as you get closer to the fretboard, enhancing the sustain of every note. The set-neck construction has been rounded off by a 'Modern Contoured Heel' for truly unobstructed access to the highest frets, and a set of Grover Locking Rotomatic not only sure-up stability but speed up string changes.

The Tonal Acrobat

Gibson have adorned their fresh-faced Les Paul Modern with the forceful pairing of a BurstBucker Pro and a BurstBucker Pro+ passive humbucker to guarantee that classic and fierce Gibson sound. But that's where any link with tradition ends, since every volume and tone pot mounted on this model functions as a push/pull switch. So you can coil-tap the pickups, phase switch, or activate a pure bypass function. The unmistakable tone of a P90 can even be mimicked by this insanely flexible control section, meaning that this-American made tonal acrobat of a guitar doesn't just provide the tools to shape the LP sound you've heard all of your life, but to sculpt something truly fresh.

Gibson Modern Collection Les Paul Modern LH Sparkling Burgundy Electric Guitar with Case

Lovely guitar, both in looks & sound. The price was easily the best around, especially for a left-handed instrument. I unfortunately just missed out on a 7% discount offer which arrived 2 hours after I purchased. That's life!!
Delivery was on time, even with the threat of a postal strike.
All in all, I'm very pleased with the guitar & the overall Bax experience.
