The Tama IP52KH6HC-MNB in Midnight Blue is a five-piece drum set from the Imperialstar series. This series is know for its attractive combination of affordable pricing and high-quality features. The Midnight Blue comes in a rock-configuration and is suited for both the serious beginner and the advanced drummer. The kit comes with a Zildjian cymbal set, high-quality hardware, an Iron Cobra bass drum pedal and a sturdy drum throne.

This Imperialstar in Midnight Blue comes in a rock-configuration, which consists of a 22-inch bass drum, two toms (10 and 12-inch), a 16-inch floor tom and a matching 14 x 5-inch snare. The shells are made of 6 plies of poplar and have Tama's Precision Bearing Edges. These bearing edges make sure that the shells can resonate freely and have an open sound, while also creating a sensitive response. Among the kit's other special features are the Imperialstar lugs. These lugs are 10% smaller than the Swingstar lugs, which also helps the shells resonate better.

Tama has taken a good look at every little detail on this drum kit, and then decided what needed improvement. A great example is the fact that the blue wrap has been completely glued to the shells. Applying the glue to the entire shell (instead of just a few spots), also contributes to a better shell resonance, while giving this Midnight Blue drum kit a professional look.

Cymbals and hardware

Included with the kit is a 3-piece set of cymbals by renowned cymbal manufacturer Zildjian. You can mount these cymbals on three (included) sturdy, durable and easy to use stands (straight, boom and hi-hat). The toms will feel right at home on Tama's tried-and-true tom mounting system, that is easy to adjust, but also provides the toms with plenty of stability, while allowing them to resonate freely. The special Accu-Tune bass drum hoops are also very reliable, and they make sure your bass drum stays in tune for much longer.
