If a snare drum is designed to the specifications of a drummer like Virgil Donati, you know you're getting something special. Enter the Pearl VG1450 Virgil Donati Signature snare drum. This great looking snare has a Smoke Flake finish and is inspired by the Reference series of drums.

Features

This versatile 14 x 5-inch snare drum is made up of four plies of maple on the outside and four plies of birch on the inside. Not only do these 8 plies make sure the snare has plenty of volume, but they provide a complex sound as well: The 8 plies are divided 50/50, the inner four plies being birch, which adds brightness to the overall sound and help it cut through the mix better. On top of all that, the VG1450 comes with a 'Philharmonic' snare bed that lies completely flat on the resonant head, which allows for incredible snare response, and rounded bearing edges keep the overtones in check, meaning you will rarely need any muffling.
