Allmänt
The M-Audio M-Track Plus MKII is the successor of the M-Track Plus, and a more elaborate version of the M-Track MKII. It owes its Plus status to three additional features: the option to connect not one but two guitars, a higher sound quality (24 bits/96 kHz instead of 24 bits/48 kHz), and a more extensive software package (in addition to Ableton Live and the Waves plug-in bundle, you'll also receive the familiar Cubase LE). This USB sound card enables you to record, for instance, the sound of two studio or stage microphones, two instruments, a microphone and an instrument, or a single stereo instrument. If you're a musician or producer who's looking for a comprehensive, flexible, but affordable audio interface, the M-Audio M-Track Plus MKII is definitely worth your consideration.
M-Track Plus MKII: volume, connectors and direct input
With the M-Track Plus MKII, you can get right down to business. Simply install Ableton Live Lite or Cubase LE, and you're all set to start recording. Connect a set of studio monitors to the two jack outputs at the back, and plug your headphones into the connector on the front panel - the volume levels can be adjusted independently. A third knob allows you to determine the balance between the signal that's processed by your computer and your direct input signal (which enables you to hear yourself without the moderate, but annoying latency that occurs when your audio is run through a computer first). Use the included plug-ins to add some reverb or colouring to your recordings.
