Takamine's subsidiary Jasmine offers beautiful acoustic guitars for a remarkably reasonable price. This JO-36, for instance, is an acoustic western guitar with an orchestra - also known as triple-O - body, which is more slender than, for instance, that of a dreadnought model. Not only does this make the guitar more manageable, it also affects the sound: the low end is reduced, which makes the overall tone of the guitar more feisty, giving it more presence. Blues guitarists and fingerpickers in particular will appreciate these characteristics.
Jasmine JO-36: spruce and sapele
The attractive JO-36 is equipped with a laminated spruce top that has been reinforced with Jasmine's Advanced X-bracing, ensuring constructional stability without any significant loss of sound. The sides and back of the acoustic western guitar are made of sapele. The nato neck of the JO-36 has a slender profile for a comfortable playing experience and is fitted with a rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets.
