The body of this shredding machine is made of basswood for a fat but balanced sound. The Nitro Wizard-7 neck was designed for fast-playing guitarists, is solid and comfortable and is fitted with an ebony fretboard with 24 jumbo frets. The guitar features some great-looking details such as the quilted maple top, the Transparent Gray finish and the gold-coloured hardware. The fixed Gibraltar Standard 7 bridge provides great stability and keeps the guitar perfectly tuned for a very long time. Furthermore, it optimally unifies the strings with the body, resulting in a quick response and maximum resonance.
EMG 707
EMG pickups always perform well, but the active 707 pickups on this guitar are a league of their own. They were designed specifically for 7-string guitars and since their introduction in 2001, these pickups really take the lead when it comes to these instruments. The Alnico V-coil is tuned especially for the low B string and produces a very tight sound. From death chugs to jazzy chords, the 707 always sounds articulated and dynamic. The RGIX27FEQM-TG is fitted with two 707's, which really makes this Ibanez Iron Label 7-string guitar worthwhile. Finally, the Kill Switch provides a stroboscopic effect which makes a solo even more intense.
