The Fender PS-512 is a powerful compact active subwoofer that pairs perfectly with Fender Passport PA systems that are equipped with a sub connection, as well as PA systems from other manufacturers. This subwoofer produces a tight bass - that you can feel in your abdomen - with its 12-inch woofer with 3-inch voice coil.
Setting up the PS-512
The PS-512 connects to the sub output of your PA system via its XLR/jack combo connector. You can adjust its sound with the frequency and volume controls and a phase switch. This active subwoofer has a power of 250-watt RMS (500W peak) and a frequency range downwards of 38 Hertz, making sure that your audience feels the bass as they hear it.
Connection to the Fender Passport PA system
Most Fender Passport PA systems feature a sub-out connection, which sets the cross-over frequency as it sends the signal to the subwoofer. As the PS-512 takes care of the mid-bass and bass, the Passport PA can focus on handling the other frequencies, resulting in a massive increase in volume and a clearer definition of the basses, mids and trebles. The cross-over frequency can also be set on the sub itself.
