Allmänt
The Fender Limited Edition Offset Telecaster is the ideal mix between a Telecaster and a Jazzmaster. Originally, this body-type eventually evolved into the Jazzmaster, while the neck is 100% Tele. This particular American Standard guitar is finished in 2-tone Sunburst, which gives it an authentic, classic look. As it's essentially a blend of two guitars, this model has been nicknamed the Telemaster. While it has that Tele twang, it mostly plays like a Jazzmaster, even featuring its double cutaway.
No mishmash
You might think this limited edition guitar is composed of two different guitars, but that's not the case. The Offset Telecaster is actually an existing model that was predecessor to the Jazzmaster, eventually resulting in the development of the latter. What's great about this particular model, however, is that it has a Custom Shop Twisted Single-Coil pickup at the neck that allows it to produce an almost Stratocaster-like sound. At the bridge, meanwhile, there's a Vintage-style single-coil for that famous twang. Furthermore, this guitar has the standard Tele control setup without any additional switches, meaning you get a 3-way pickup switch, a volume knob and a tone knob. The tone knob features a No-Load circuit, so that it takes itself out of the circuit entirely when you turn it up all the way.
Its own identity
Even though the American Standard may be somewhat of a blend, it has an identity all its own. It features a great-looking 2-tone Sunburst finish, but it's on and around the maple fingerboard where most of the work happens. It starts with the string-through construction of the Tele-style bridge with a brass plate and vintage-style bent saddles. Further up, where body and neck meet, you can easily adjust the neck thanks to the Micro Tilt functionality. On the headstock, you'll find staggered machine heads, meaning you only need one string tree, which greatly benefits the guitar's excellent tone and sustain.
