Allmänt
Back in the seventies, the Ramones were at the forefront of American punk music. A vital part of their sound was the amazingly quick bass lines by their original bass player Dee Dee Ramone. Dee Dee set a standard for quick and tight playing that is still rarely matched to this day. When the people at Fender designed this bass guitar, they attempted to imitate Dee Dee’s beloved white P-Bass as closely as possible.
Construction
The lightweight alder body of this guitar sports a high-gloss Olympic White finish, while the bolt-on maple neck (with a comfortable C profile) has a natural finish. Twenty vintage-style frets adorn the maple fretboard. Equipped with only a single split single-coil pickup, this instrument produces the characteristic P-Bass punch. Thanks to the two separate coils this pickup also bucks the hum, ridding you of that typical 50Hz noise. The rugged, vintage-style bridge ensures the stable tuning needed for Dee Dee's intense playing style.
Dee Dee Ramone
The back of the headstock brandishes the bass player's signature, while the neck plate sports an engraving of the iconic Ramones logo and the legendary cry '1-2-3-4'. In addition to an exclusive book and Dee Dee Ramone poster, this electric bass guitar comes with a rugged Fender gig bag. Even if you're not a fan of the Ramones, there's plenty to enjoy on this reasonably priced Fender P-Bass. If you are a fan, however, Hey Ho, Let's Go to Bax-shop for this unique piece of music history.
