Fender's American Standard series guitars represent the new standard for Fender's legendary guitar models. This light-blue Telecaster combines vintage looks and sound with modern playability and quality. For instance, the back of the body features a comfortable contour like that on a Stratocaster, to counter a sore rib cage. Its neck has been fitted with an extra fret (22 in total) and features a modern, flatter 9.5-inch radius for low action and effortless bends without buzzing. This is the Ocean Blue Metallic version of the American Standard Telecaster. What's more, this version has a maple fretboard for that little bit of extra sparkle and bite.

Modern features of the American Standard Telecaster

The Ocean Blue Metallic lacquer of this American Tele is extra thin to ensure a richer, more open tone. Additionally, the bridge's base plate is made of brass and mounted to the body with five screws to ensure a better tone transference from the strings to the body. The Bi-Flex truss rod allows you - depending on the gauge of your strings or the temperature/humidity - to make the neck more concave or convex. Even the angle of the neck can be adjusted with the Micro-Tilt system that can be accessed via the neck plate. The staggered tuners eliminate the need for a second string guide, ensuring less friction and improved tuning stability. To obtain the authentic Tele sound - yet with more power and more fat around the edges - a Fender Custom Shop Broadcaster pickup was mounted in the bridge position and a Custom Shop Twisted Tele at the neck.

Distinctive and timeless Telecaster sound

More than any other classic electric guitar, the Telecaster takes the limelight with an undeniably characteristic sound that is defined by a clear and sparkling trebles and warm, balanced mids. In addition to the excellent Custom Shop pickups, the one-piece maple neck and solid alder body (with its thin layer of lacquer) create a rich resonance throughout the entire instrument. The Fender Telecaster is mostly associated with country music. But, as rock, blues, funk and even jazz guitarists can confirm, the Tele is capable of producing a wide range of versatile sounds that have the power to conquer any musical genre. This guitar comes with a case, a guitar strap, an instrument cable and a polishing cloth by Fender.
