Allmänt
Suppose that the new Fender Custom Shop Fat '50s single-coils of the American Standard Stratocaster still aren't massive enough for you. If that is the case, Fender also make an HSS version that is equipped with a Fender Diamond humbucker in the bridge position. This pickup produces a modern and yet bluesy sound that goes exceptionally well with the higher output and vintage character of the Fat '50s single-coils. This black 'Fat Strat' features a lightweight alder body and a one-piece maple neck that gives this guitar a slightly more sparkling and clearer sound than a rosewood version would. This delivery includes a high-tech case, a Fender guitar strap, a 2.5-metre instrument cable and a polishing cloth.
American Standard Stratocaster HSS: vintage meets modern
This American Standard Stratocaster HSS offers the best of both worlds - classic looks and sound with the comfort and playability of a modern Strat. For example, the tremolo bridge has a vintage look but with a smoother feel and better tuning stability thanks to its 2-point mounting, and its renewed saddles reduce the chance of string breakage. Since the 1950s, the playing comfort has been drastically improved. The neck features 22 medium jumbo frets, a relatively flat 9.5-inch fretboard radius and a two-way truss rod. This combination enables a comfortable low action without the risk of buzzing strings or loss of notes during bends. A set of staggered machine heads provides plenty of string-nut pressure, eliminating the need for a second string guide and thus providing nothing but pure tone and extra sustain.
Versatile Strat sounds with Custom Shop quality
The American Standard Stratocaster HSS is equipped with a Fender Diamondback humbucker in the bridge position that produces a modern, yet bluesy sound that goes exceptionally well with the higher output and vintage character of the Fat '50s single-coils. From twangy cleans to high-gain distortion, this Fat Strat offers a wide range of classic and modern sounds. As the middle pickup is reverse-wound, there's a hum-free sound in mid positions. The bottom tone knob is a no-load potentiometer, which means that right before you reach position 10 you'll feel a click and the potentiometer is taken out of the tone circuit. This provides you with a purer, rawer sound from the bridge and middle pickup.
