Allmänt
2014 saw the sixtieth anniversary of Fender's Stratocaster. At its introduction, the Strat was far ahead of its time, and unchained a guitar revolution. Even though the basic design changed little over the years, technology has rather improved. The Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster contains many of these modern improvements, resulting in a guitar that looks like a classic Stratocaster but which offers modern playing comfort. Its S1 circuit for instance, allows you to enjoy a multitude of tonal possibilities in addition to the traditional, known and loved Strat sounds. As a special treat, this model features a humbucker pickup designed by Tim Shaw: a Shawbucker.
Construction
The alder body ensures a balanced tone and is covered in a beautiful black high-gloss lacquer. Extra sparkle is added by the 22-fret maple fretboard on the maple C-profile neck. The maple neck features a compound radius that runs from 9.5 to 14 inches, which is great for tight riffs and smooth chords low on the neck as well as fast solos higher up. The solos are also easier thanks to the bevelled heel. Like most American Deluxe Strats, this guitar is equipped with a maintenance-free Fender LSR Roller Bridge.
S1 switch + Shawbucker
The American Deluxe Stratocaster is fitted with Fender's N3 Noiseless pickups. These two single-coils produce that legendary Strat sparkle, without the typical 50Hz hum or static. In addition to the standard tone control, the master volume knob features an S-1 switch that allows you to activate several circuits so you can employ five extra options in addition to the traditional Stratocaster one. Add the incredibly potent Tim Shaw humbucker to the mix and you have a characterful Stratocaster with a unique tonal range.
