Allmänt
This yellow 2GB iPod Shuffle is from the first generation of iPod Shuffles with housings made of anodised aluminium—a rugged material that can withstand the test of time, or at least some hard use. The material is also a great basis for bright, intense colours. Of course, we all know it’s what’s on the inside that counts, and this iPod Shuffle has 2 GB of room for storing plenty of playlists and genius lists. You can also use it for podcasts and audio books.
Operation
The Shuffle is easy to operate via the large button on the front of the device, which you can use to skip through all your music. There’s also a shuffle button for randomising the playing order, and when you press the voice-over button the iPod Shuffle will tell you the name of the current song and artist. It will also let you know if it’s time to charge the battery. Of course, it wouldn’t be an Apple music device without the Genius function, which gives you advice on songs that go together perfectly.

Het enige minpunt dat ik vond is dat als je de speler verbindt met je computer, je niet al te veel moeite moet doen om de verbinding tussen de iPod en je computer te verbreken. De verbinding gebeurt door middel van een USB-naar-3-rings mini jack, en dat is misschien waar het schoentje wringt, maar een andere oplossing voor een fysieke verbinding zie ik ook niet. Misschien via Wi-Fi, ooit?
In ieder geval is het een leuke speler, waar toch behoorlijk wat nummers op kunnen, aan een lage prijs. De batterij gaat ongeveer 15 uur mee. Opladen duurt 2 à 3 uur. Je krijgt er verder ook oortjes bij. Deze geven een redelijke kwaliteit (niet te vergelijken met over-ears e.d., maar ok). Veel producers mixen trouwens ook op deze oortjes, omdat een erg groot deel van de westerse bevolking door deze oortjes naar muziek luistert...
