The Neat Widget C USB mic: all-round recording
As mentioned before, this microphone can accommodate a great many applications. Because of its cardioid pickup pattern, it's able to capture the desired audio source directly in front of it while virtually ignoring unwanted background noises at the sides or back. The built-in accessories further improve your recording - the pop filter minimises the effect of hard tones and plosives and the shock mount prevents any accidental bumps, ticks or vibrations from ending up on your recording. According to Neat, this microphone is also highly suitable for professional use and is ideal for conducting conference calls via Skype or Facetime when the audio quality needs to be crystal clear.
The complete package
When developing this microphone, Neat clearly wanted a device that not looked good, but that was functional as well. You can adjust the stand this microphone is mounted on in height, for example, and because it's a full-range microphone, you can take advantage of a sample rate of 96 kHz and a bit rate of 24 bits. With a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, it offers a sublime sound quality as well. Even though each of the three Widget microphones look very different on the outside, they contain the same high-class capsule and circuitry. This way, Neat has been able to maintain a certain level of quality and remarkable audio characteristics.
