If you're looking for that serious Ludwig sound for a remarkably reasonable price, then check out the 4-piece Ludwig LSS240XTK Signet 105 TeraBeat DIY shell set in Indian Teak! This shell set comes from the Signet 105 series, which allows you to perform the final stages of assembly yourself. That way, you can get your hands on a high-quality USA-made Ludwig kit at a much lower price! To keep assembly as simple as possible (it shouldn't take more than half an hour), Ludwig introduced the easy Insta-Lite Snap-In lugs.

Ludwig LSS240XTK: easy assembly

The LSS240XTK consists of 4 maple shells (22" bass drum, 16" floor tom, and 10 and 12" toms), Ludwig Weathermaster drumheads, floor tom legs, tom mounts and bass drum spurs. Furthermore, it comes with everything you'll need to assemble the drum kit, and you won't need any tools except for the included drum key! First, snap the lugs into the pre-drilled holes in the shells, then install the Triad mounting brackets using the drum key. After that, mount the hoops and drumheads using the tension rods.

The results of this short and enjoyable burst of manual labour is a shell set with a sound that will please many dedicated drummers! This should come as no surprise, as the shells are made of the same American maple that is used in Ludwigs top-range drum kits. Furthermore, Ludwig included a set of Weathermaster drumheads, which are made in the same American Ludwig factory. Finally, the special Triad tom mounts (with memory locks) that hold the floor tom legs and tom brackets, allow the shells to resonate as freely as possible, greatly improving their sound!
