With their GLXD14 - MX53 wireless headset, Shure has released an affordable digital system that uses the 2.4GHz band. Should the signal be less than perfect, its LINKFREQ system automatically selects a different, interference-free frequency. The set consists of a compact GLXD4 receiver, a GLXD1 bodypack transmitter and a beige MX153 headset microphone, and transmits your signal within a range of 65 yards.

Shure GLX-D4 receiver and GLX-D1 transmitter

Shure's GLXD4 is a digital receiver that boasts a number of practical, state-of-the-art features. Take the LINKFREQ system, for instance, which automatically (and continuously) searches for an available frequency. Meanwhile, a clear, well-organised display tells you all you need to know about the current frequency and the remaining battery life of your GLXD1 bodypack transmitter. The latter is equipped with a powerful lithium-ion battery that allows you to perform or present for up to sixteen consecutive hours. Have you forgotten to recharge the battery? No need to panic - a quick, 15-minute charging session provides it with enough juice to keep going for another hour and a half.

Shure MX153 headset microphone

Shure's MX153 is an electret condenser microphone with an omnidirectional pickup pattern. This miniature microphone is very inconspicuous, and can be positioned near your mouth, so speech and vocals are accurately registered. A comfortable over-ear clip keeps the mic in place. Thanks to the MX153's lightweight, flexible design, it feels quite comfortable - you'll hardly notice you're wearing it. This model's beige finish makes it perfect for people with a light skin tone.
