Denon DJ's SC5000 Prime is a digital tabletop with a 7-inch touch screen, 8 performance pads, and Denon's very own Engine Prime music management software for an optimal, seamless set. The display features HD resolution at 55 frames per second, which is about four times the amount of the current club standard. This means you can select a new track, scroll inside it and your library, and zoom in and out in a flash. If you prefer a more hands-on approach, there's also a rotary knob on the right that offers the same functionality.

Fully equipped

Besides a mixer (like the X1800 Prime), you don't need much else to take full advantage of the SC5000 Prime. It's a media player that has an 8-inch aluminium jog wheel with a display in the centre and an adjustable coloured ring, a 100mm pitch fader, and various other features. With the 8 performance pads, you can activate and create cues, play loops, start rolls or use the slicer; in short, it offers everything any standard DJ controller has. Speaking of loops, with the loop move rotary knob, you can start them at exactly the right time and adjust them with ease.

Layer by layer

This tabletop allows you to play two tracks at once, and thanks to the clear display, finding another to perfectly match the beat has never been easier. Determining a beatgrid or playlist is a piece of cake with Engine Prime, Denon's own music management software that works seamlessly with Serato. All you need to do is plug in a USB stick and you're good to go! Want even more music? There are two USB ports as well as slot for an SD card. There are also plenty of outputs, including two RCA connections, a digital out, USB for your PC, and a link connection (RJ45) that enables you to connect four devices at once!
