Attention, sound designers! One of the most legendary synthesizers of pop music history is back and ready to hit the stage and the studio. KORG's ARP Odyssey Rev2 analogue synthesizer means your days of scouring eBay for an affordable second-hand model are over. This second generation Odyssey is just as analogue, just as easy to use, and just as fat. It does, however, have one or two new improvements such as MIDI IN and USB MIDI connection. Other than that, it still offers the same monophonic/duophonic concept with the classic (saw, square, pulse, pwm) and noise oscillator.

This reissue was developed in collaboration with its original designer, David Friend of ARP. Once you hook this device up in your studio, you won't believe the possibilities. No more listening to boring, pre-fab presets, this synthesizer lets you make your own unique sounds time and time again, because just like the original, you can't store sounds in the Odyssey. Before you know it, you'll be creating unique, one-of-a-kind sounds like Vangelis, Elton John and ABBA did back in the day. When it comes to audio character, it's a trip down memory lane. That great analogue sound has a nice authentic drift which means the pitch isn't stable (1/30 semitone deviation), but that's exactly what sound designers want. Hook up a reverb effect and you've got an unmistakable sound that you can experiment with to your heart's content.
Extra features
KORG has generously includes a case with the ARP Odyssey, which is something that you don't often get with synthesizers. Even though the Odyssey looks vintage, it really does boast the very latest technology such as MIDI IN and a USB port. It also features a headphone output, which wasn't present on the original Odyssey model. Another thing you don't come across too often is an XLR output. Originally, this was unbalanced, but KORG has balanced it in this reissue. It even comes with patch cables so you can route the headphone output through to the input for a feedback system.
