Imagine yourself in the North East of Brazil with the Meinl SUB20 surdo. This sturdy aluminium surdo has a different size which is very popular in the Brazilian province of Bahia. Less deep shells allow for more freedom of movement during your performances. Thanks to the aluminium shell, the sound has a good sound projection which makes this surdo suitable for outdoor performances. The instrument has a field diameter of 20 inches and a shell depth of 16 inches. A low addition to all your samba performances.

Meinl has given this SUB20 surdo traditional details. Countersunk tension bolts and an embossed pattern on the top and bottom provides an authentic character. The percussion head features light damping for a dry but full sound. The 10 tensioning bolts ensure consistent tension on the sheet, and the included tuning spanner allows you to adjust it as required. Excellent for use in samba-reggae music styles.
