The best-known type of recorder is the soprano recorder. These flutes are tuned in C and are octavering instruments. This means they sound an octave higher than noted. This flute is made of blue-transparent plastic. The fourth hole seen from the top is larger than the rest, which means that this recorder has a so-called German bore. The bore on flutes affects the fingerings used. As an example: on this recorder, an F is played as follows: thumb + 1, 2, 3 and 4. On a recorder with baroque bore, you play the same note with a different fingering, namely thumb + 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 and 7. The instrument is easy to clean thanks to the three parts you can take apart. Stagg supplies the recorder including case and wiper.

Recorder

The recorder, the ideal instrument to discover the first principles of music with. This soprano recorder, with German bore, is made of plastic. This material has a number of advantages over wooden recorders. For instance, the instrument is insensitive to moisture. Plastic recorders require almost no maintenance. Because plastic recorders are relatively cheap, they are used a lot, especially in music schools and primary schools where pupils have their first music lessons and do not yet know whether they will continue with music, or which instrument they eventually want to choose. Many musicians have started their careers on recorders.
