These days, there aren't many guitarists or bassists who play without effects, and many own a number of different pedals. While this gives you access to different sounds, it's not the easiest setup, and if you want another sound, you have to invest in another pedal. Not so with BOSS's innovative MS-3. It's essentially a multi-effects engine and multi-pedal switcher wrapped up in one single compact housing. Up to six of the 112 built-in effects can be used simultaneously and there's room to add three of your external effects pedals too.

MS-3: possibilities

With six internal and three external effects at your disposal at any time, you'll have plenty of sound options. Once you've found an ideal combination, you can save it to one of the 200 patches for easy recall whenever you need it. If you own an amplifier that has MIDI capabilities, then you can connect it to the MS-3 and use it to switch channels on your amp. The MS-3 also works with other switches and expression pedals by BOSS and Roland (see specifications), giving you even more possibilities.

Effects

The MS-3's 112 effects are divided into six different categories: FX1, FX2, Mod1, Mod2, Delay and Reverb. FX1 and FX2 contain a number of effects including overdrives, distortions, compressors, pitch shifters, slow gear and many more. Mod 1 and Mod 2 include the renowned BOSS chorus as well as vibrato, tremolo, flanger, phaser and others. There are many options available in the delay and reverb sections too. All in all, BOSS's MS-3 is a comprehensive, top-quality effects system that works flawlessly with your existing gear.
