This classic Brazilian samba percussion instrument has a palm wicker body with coconut shell ends. Made by hand, the Meinl GA2 ganza has a subtle shaker sound that, due to the end-pieces, is also capable of injecting strong accents whether weaving samba beats, capoeira, or a range of African percussive styles. In terms of sound and construction, the ganza comes close to the caxixi, but besides the shape, is more designed to support subtle rhythmic patterns rather than punching accents.
