Allmänt
The Recording King MT30 is based on the legendary Tricone, which was the first resonator guitar built by National in the late 1920s. Resonator guitars were originally designed to produce a high volume so that they could be used in combination with wind instruments and percussion. Their distinct loud sound with long sustain and brilliant trebles quickly became popular among bluegrass musicians, while delta-blues guitarists also discovered the resonator and found it the perfect slide guitar. With the Recording King MT30, you're getting that same authentic vintage sound and look, but at a much more affordable price.
Recording King MT30: Tricone-style metal body
At the heart of the Recording King MT30 lie three cones, hence the Tricone name. As the bridge is connected to the centre of the three cones via a special T-bar, the vibrations from the guitar strings are amplified and spread throughout the guitar's entire body. The three 6-inch cones, or resonators, are made by the renowned Continental. There are two resonators underneath the wound strings, and another one on the other side, giving the Tricone an excellent EQ balance with a beautifully warm sound and great projection. Furthermore, the MT30's body is made of chrome-plated brass and features two cool grille-shaped sound holes and a screen coverplate.
Comfortable round-neck resonator guitar
Contrary to a square neck resonator guitar that you play on your lap or on a table, the Recording King MT30 features an extra wide neck with a round profile. This allows you to comfortably play it while standing up, just like you would a normal guitar. Furthermore, the neck is made of Honduras mahogany, a rare wood type that many instrument manufacturers love for its beautifully sweet sound. The bridge, meanwhile, is made of hard maple and allows for tight, bright notes. Moreover, there is a special support that covers the bridge and strings, so that you can rest your hand on your instrument without muting the strings. Finally, a set of high-quality self-lubricating tuners and the vintage-style Recording King logo on the headstock complete the picture.
