Dynacord's D12 D-Lite is a lightweight passive speaker with a rugged housing, a 12-inch woofer and a 1-inch compression driver. This speaker is suitable for both mobile and fixed installations. The D12 can handle 300 Watts continuously and peaks of up to 1,200 Watts at a maximum sound pressure of 139 dB. Its numerous mounting options make this an incredibly versatile speaker.
Using the D12
This lightweight speaker is perfect for entertainers, presenters, schools or multi-media applications, for instance. Its transparent sound is great for any type of music, but also for speech and vocals. The sound is highly defined and can hold its own under virtually all circumstances. This passive speaker is a great performer, whether at high or at low volumes. The D12 can be driven by an amplifier or a powered subwoofer, creating a compact sound system that can easily be transported in the boot of your car.
Protective Circuit
Both the woofer and the compression driver of the D12 are protected against overheating. Its internal circuit monitors the speakers' voltage and reduces the power that is sent to them if they're at risk of being overloaded. This means that you can use amplifiers of 1,200 Watts at 8 Ohms for a maximum dynamic range without running the risk of damaging your speakers. This system is called voice coil tracking protection and prevents annoying clicks and pop sounds. It will reset itself if the coil's temperature cools down to safe levels, allowing for a problem-free, safe use of the D12 D-Lite series.
