The ART SCC (Studio Control Center) is a practical audio switch for small home studios. It enables you to connect three stereo audio sources and is equipped with three balanced stereo outputs. On the front of this handy tool, you can select various input signals or a combination of them and assign them to the outputs. A large rotary knob controls the volume. The SCC also offers a separate input for a headphone mix and a headphone output with its own volume control. This makes it easier than ever to make a separate mix for previewing.
ART SCC: common studio setup
A common studio setup with this audio switch may look like this: you connect the master output of your DAW to one of the SCC's inputs. Connect one headphone or monitor output to the cue input so you can make a headphone mix. The rest of the inputs are for connecting a keyboard, for instance, or another audio source such as an MP3 or CD player. Connect a pair of active studio monitors to the SCC outputs, together with a subwoofer, if desired. The great thing about the Studio Control Center is that you can use multiple inputs at the same time.
The nerve centre
The design of the SCC by ART is immediately recognisable, as the brand uses the same shape for their other products. This device is made with a sturdy black aluminium housing, reinforced with rubber sides. The SCC is also stackable, which means you can have multiple ART products within reach in your home studio, where space is often limited.
