The Zoom G5n multi-effect processor is the spiritual successor of the G5. Sporting a new black paint-job, the G5n clearly does a few things differently than its predecessor. While the G5 was limited to 4 multi-functional footswitches, the G5n chose to get rid of that multi-functionality and add new, dedicated buttons. Another new feature is the extra display at the top, for an even better overview. Of course, what hasn't changed is the impressive lineup of effects (9 of which can be used simultaneously) and the many amp models, which include very realistic tube amps.

Accessible effects processor

Zoom understands that guitarists don't want to think about their effects while on stage - a simple press of a button should be enough to engage or disengage the desired effect. As such, the G5n has four stompbox-style switches that do just that and no more. Below, there are four separate switches that you can use to engage the tuner or tap the tempo. What's more, there's an expression pedal for even more control over your wah effects, for instance.

Overdrives, modulation effects, delays and more

Connect the G5n to your amp, or insert it into an effects loop and start experimenting! The Zoom G5n features a separate display for each of its four footswitches, allowing for a clear overview of four effects at once. By using the second and third buttons from the left, you can browse through the various available factory and user presets. Using the dials under the display, you can accurately fine-tune all your effects, from overdrives and distortions to delays and modulation effects. Finally, as an added bonus, the G5n includes an extended looper time (80 seconds now), and many different drum rhythms (68 of them).
