Allmänt
Simply by adding a USB port, the TC Electronic TonePrint concept grants users of any pedals included in the series full access to exactly the same presets shaped by renowned guitarists. One of the first to add their magic touch to the long list of presets was Dream Theatre guitarist John Petrucci, who created two of his own TonePrints for the Corona Chorus; another two for the Shaker Vibrato; and for good measure, one for the Vortex Flanger. In a perfect world, John could get all three sets of TonePrints loaded into one neat pedal, so TC Electronic accommodated the master-guitarist's humble wish and dropped The Dreamscape.
The TC Electronic The Dreamscape: Sound & Control
Besides the set of five previous Petrucci-made TonePrints, The Dreamscape is home to an extra Vortex Flanger preset, giving you no less than six settings tweaked by the hand of Petrucci himself. All of this, plus the chorus, flanger, and vibrato, have been neatly and stylishly packed up inside this compact stombox and fitted with a simple, four-pot control panel. Use the Speed pot to set the effect speed; use the Depth pot to adjust the intensity; use the FX-Level pot to balance the output level; then use the fourth pot to toggle through the six presets plus an extra custom preset. Next to that, a three-way mini-switch toggles the sound from Normal, to sparkling Bright, or warm and Dark. Essentially, everything is calibrated and laid out according to Petrucci's standards, making The Dreamscape the ultimate pedal for any die-hard fans.
True-Bypass & USB
Just like any other TonePrint pedal, The Dreamscape comes fully equipped with stereo inputs and outputs and boasts a true-bypass circuit to ensure a clean and pure signal whenever the pedal is inactive. It also comes delivered in a neat and tour-ready metal housing finished with a battery compartment that opens easily via a single large screw. The Dreamscape supports TonePrints for the Corona Chorus, and the extra slot can be filled up with TonePrints that have been carved into shape by the likes of Ron Thal of Guns 'N' Rose, or virtuoso Paul Gilbert - as preferred. Simply download them from the TC Electronic site then install them via USB connection and install the latest firmware while you're at it. And the magic doesn't end there, since you can even open the TonePrint app on your phone to 'beam' presets to the pedal via the pickups of your guitar (it's true! See the video linked under the tab).
