Whether it offers 88, 61 or 25 keys, a decent MIDI controller is equipped with a solid keyboard. The Akai MPK 225 is a MIDI controller with 25 full-size, semi-weighted keys with aftertouch, which enable you to comfortably play small parts or arrangements and, more importantly, allow you to play expressively. Connectors for optional expression and sustain pedals offer even more creative options, and a modulation and a pitch-bend wheel are also at your disposal, located on the left-hand side of the controller.

Akai MPK 225: LCD Display and RGB MPC Pads

Thanks to a clear and detailed LCD display, DAW-related functions can be efficiently accessed and programmed. The MPK 225 is equipped with RGB-coloured backlit, pressure and velocity-sensitive trigger pads, which have been modelled after the pads of the MPC Renaissance and are both rugged and accurate. The controller is supplied with Ableton Live Lite as well as AIR and SONiVOX software, and works seamlessly with most sequencers and production packages. The full-size keys, the various controls and pads and the exceptionally compact size of the MPK 225 make this MIDI controller a highly popular choice.
