Back with a vengeance: the Wizard by Rush by Martin. At the beginning of the noughties this light effect was widely available, but it's seemed to be out of vogue the last few years. Rush by Martin are changing this by bringing this versatile floor-filling light effect back, and it's better than ever! The Wizard has become more lightweight, more compact, brighter and more energy-efficient. It features an economical 130W gas-discharge lamp with reflector that, in combination with a motorised rotating parabolic mirror dish, blasts over 80 light beams onto the dance floor! Add a seven-colour colour wheel and a 13-gobo wheel and Gandalf's home!
Wizard with effects
The revived Wizard features a large number of effects, of which its many light beams are just the beginning! Apart from 13 fixed gobos, you can add a customised gobo to the wheel. Furthermore, the gobo wheel features functions like scrolling, continuous rotation and a shake effect. The colour wheel can hold two colours of your choice, along with the seven fixed colours. A 0-100% dimming function graces the shutter, and it also has random strobe and pulse effects, as well as an instant open and blackout option. The Wizard is a lively boy - it has a 180° pan (swivel) and 360° tilt (continuous rotation)! Forced convection cooling keeps the Wizard's internal temperature down.
DMX Wizard
Of course, the Wizard can be operated via DMX - it features 8 DMX channels. You can also let it operate automatically to the music, or program your own light show via DMX. An independent program can be set via the backlit LCD display on the back. The light effect features two stand-alone trigger options: music trig and auto trig, whereby the first responds to music and the second goes through a fixed program. Another advantage of DMX is that you can give the Wizard a firmware update via the XLR connection. Just one press of the button and it's done! The Wizard has a 3-pin as well as 5-pin XLR connector.
