Everyone's seen the 5x5 halogen matrix blinders at large events, a spectacular effect, but rather power-consuming. With the dawn of LED, it was only a matter of time before American DJ developed the energy-efficient Matrix Beam LED. This is a 5x5 matrix LED blinder, especially developed to create spectacular low-resolution effects. A few of these panels already produce an incredibly impressive effect! Connect even more panels to create a jaw-dropping vintage video-wall-like effect. With the right lighting control or software you can also project (scrolling) text or numbers!

Technology of the Matrix Beam LED

The Matrix Beam LED is equipped with twenty-five warm-white 3W CREE LEDs that produce a proper blinder effect but really come into their own as a matrix grid. A diffusion lens disperses the light somewhat, but it still comes out as a neat beam with a beam angle much like that of a halogen bulb. The extremely narrow 2-degree beam angle ensures sharp beams with diffused edges.

Controlling and mounting the matrix blinder

The Matrix Beam LED is a multi-purpose device that is easy to control. Just select one of the operational modes (sound-controlled, DMX or automatic) and you can get going straight away. DMX even allows for several channel modes, from simple pre-programmed effects to pixel-by-pixel sequences. The Matrix Beam has two brackets on top that allow for the assembly of G hooks or half couplers. Additionally, it features a built-in latch system to connect multiple panels in order to create large screens. Both power and DMX can be daisy chained to several fixtures.
