Benefits of a rack drawer

Studio engineers can get so caught up in what they're doing, that clean-up is the first thing to suffer for it. A couple of cables here and there, some CDs, some DVDs... If you don't pay attention, you'll have quite a mess on your hands at the end of the day. Having a drawer right there in your rack would mean your accessories are much closer at hand, so it's much easier to put everything back in its proper place right away.
