Rode's VideoMic Soundfield makes the brand's special 3-dimensional ambisonics audio available for everyone. This technology records audio with four microphones and is converted into a suitable audio format afterwards. This can be surround sound or just stereo or mono. The VMS camera microphone is suspended in a Rycote Lyre shock mount and comes with an effective windshield.
Features of the Videomic Soundfield
The Videomic Soundfield (aka de VMS) has some adjustment settings available, including a high-pass filter with two positions, a shelf equalizer for high frequencies and a single mini jack output for mono or two for stereo. The VMS features a balanced 4-channel output that allows you to choose the desired audio format with the included software. It works on two AA batteries or with the LB1 rechargeable battery (sold separately), but can also be powered by means of micro USB.
