Travelling musicians are familiar with the idea of an ultra-compact PA system to use wherever they are. The JBL portable Eon One PA system is a great example of one that features a 10-inch woofer and six 2-inch tweeters. These tweeters are arranged in a curved line-array which means the high tones have a wide vertical dispersion. Your audience will hear what you want them to hear, even if they're below the stage, or a little above it.
JBL Eon One: the mixer
As is common practice with portable PA systems, the Eon One is also equipped with a control panel. There are six audio channels in total, divided into two mono and two stereo connectors. The two mono channels (Neutrik XLR/jack) feature rotary knobs for volume, reverb, low, and high tones. Stereo channel 3/4 has a volume control, and you can choose between an RCA or jack connector. Channel 5/6 has a mini jack input for connecting a smartphone or tablet (you can also opt to connect via Bluetooth). The Eon One also features RCA outputs for monitors with a volume knob as well.
Practical
The entire configuration is sufficient for one or two musicians, depending on the types of instruments they're using. A setup with a sub and six tweeters plus a mixing console that's meant to be portable shouldn't weight too much or be too cumbersome. Fortunately, the Eon One is easy to lift and its components are designed to fit together securely for transport. The sound, however, is most important, and JBL has a reputation to uphold where that's concerned, and they deliver. For both public speakers and musicians, the Eon One is a great-sounding, ultra-practical portable speaker solution.

Wat een mooie "afgewerkte"sound komt uit dit systeem. Zowel in de hoogte, als ook de lage bastonen, heerlijk. Alle "geluiden" komen eruit zoals ik die wil horen. Ik ben veel gewend, maar dit is echt , wat je noemt, VEEL waar voor je geld. Bediening en instellingen van volume, reverb , treble en bas gaat prima. Ook het bluetooth-gebeuren doet goed zijn werk, al is dit niet mijn hoofddoel voor mijn koop.
En inderdaad, opbouwen is zo gepiept. Maar met demonteren moet men wel voorzichtig , lees met verstand, te werk gaan dus niet snel even de spacers los willen wrikken, maar gentle te werk gaan. De contacten in de spacers kunnen geen ruwe demontage verdragen denk ik.
Kortom : hij ziet er prachtig uit als op de afbeeldingen en geeft de sound die jullie mij al telefonisch beloofd hadden.
Één aandachtpuntje is wel de temperatuur van de voeding aan de achterzijde. Ik heb het systeem de afgelopen dagen kunnen uittesten, maar de hoge temperatuur viel me wel op. Nu zal dit ,denk ik, normaal zijn. Er zitten wel gaatjes rondom de schakelaar voor koeling . Maar toch even in de gaten houden.
Ook wil ik het Bax-team danken voor de sympathieke nazorg na de "moeilijke"start met het PA-systeem. Na enkele "oneffenheden" in de levering is alles toch nog goed gekomen . Nogmaals dank hiervoor!
