Stamped with classic eighties Yamaha style, the TRB Series TRB1006J still manages to meet every demand of the more discerning modern bassist. First developed in response to the dawn of synthesizers, the additional low-B string of the five-string TRB Series basses sought to match the deep-diving synths of the time. But since it wasn't enough to match the higher range that synthesizers were capable of, an extra high C-string was added to result in the TRB1006J as we know it today.
The Yamaha TRB1006J Bass: Clever Design & Full-Range Sound
To lay down a warm tonal foundation, Yamaha have chosen a combo of alder and maple for the body before coating it in black. This has then been teamed up with a five-piece maple and mahogany neck which extends further through the body and has been secured with 6 bolts to add extra dynamic definition and increase stability, while the solid brass bridge provides extra sustain. All of this is amplified by a set of two Humcancelled pickups equipped with Alnico-V magnets that results in solid output across the entire frequency range, and can be tweaked as preferred using the three-band EQ, blend pot, and master volume pot.
