This beautiful blue bass guitar goes by the name Jackson JS3QM Concert Bass and is a four-string electric bass guitar that belongs to the JS Series by Jackson Guitars. Jackson's series for beginners is known for its excellent price to quality ratio. The body shape of this bass guitar is called Concert Bass and can be distinguished by its double cutaway. The body is made of basswood, a lightweight type of wood that produces a tight and balanced sound. The top layer is made of flamed maple and has beautiful grain structures which remains visible through the glossy, transparent blue lacquer.
JS3QM Concert Bass: The sound
The sound of the JS3QM is amplified by means of two humbucker pickups with a high output. The pickup at the bridge produces a slightly heavier tone that neck pickup. Each pickup has its own volume control so that you can create the perfect mix between the two pickups. On top of that, you can also adjust the tone perfectly by means of an active 3-band EQ. The bridge of the JS3QM is a High Mass model that provides more tone as well as sustain.
Compound radius-fretboard
The bolt-on neck is made of hard, strong maple, is fitted with a 24-fret rosewood fretboard and mother-of-pearl shark inlays that mark the positions. In order to increase playing comfort, the fretboard has a compound radius. This means that fretboard is rounder at the higher positions than it is at the lower positions.

De tone-regeling is net toereikend genoeg om je sound mee te regelen, het regelgebied per tone-knop is wel relatief klein maar met 3 knoppen valt er uiteindelijk veel af te stellen en kun je veel kanten op.
Persoonlijk vind ik de bass erg fijn te bespelen maar dat is een kwestie van smaak.
De reden waarom dat deze bass van mij 5 sterren krijgt is vanwege de sound die eruit komt in combinatie met de prijs en bespeelbaarheid.
De sound is lekker laag maar blijft zijn definitie houden, wat erg belangrijk is. Daarmee maak je de bassgitaar echt een toegevoegde waarde binnen een band.
Mijn geluidsman is compleet weg van mijn sound, en mijn sound komt echt enkel alleen uit mijn basgitaar. Daarnaast staan collega bassisten vaak versteld van het geluid; helemaal als ze erachter komen dat die puur uit mijn bass komt.
