With its unique combination of wood types, the SR605-NTF is an exceptional bass guitar. It has a body made of ash and its 5-part neck consists partially of bubinga wood and partially of jatoba wood, resulting in a perfect balance between durability and slenderness. The fretboard is made of rosewood and has medium frets. The unique, widening neck connection to the body makes this guitar rather interesting and functional as it becomes easier to play the higher frets.
Sound
Bartolini pickups are quite famous in the world of guitar electronics and it's for good reason that Ibanez used them for the SR605-NTF. These split-coil pickups provide a wide frequency response and sound very accurately. The neck and the bridge pickup have the same response as traditional single-coil pickups, but do not suffer from humming and other annoying noises.
