'Hardware' is the collective noun that drummers throw around when referring to all of their snare, tom, and cymbal stands - so, the 'harder', metal supporting bits that make up their kit. Since a lot of drum kits actually come in shell sets (so maybe a bass drum, a tom, and a floor tom) you're invited to pick out and add your preferred snare drum, cymbals and hardware.
