The Ibanez EKM100 Prestige is the signature-model of Eric Krasno, guitarist of the American funk/jazz trio Soulive. This semi-acoustic guitar is based on the Ibanez Artstar but has been adjusted to the specific demands of jazz guitarists. For instance, the guitar is equipped with a set of Dimarzio PAF 36th Anniversary humbucker pickups for a warm and sultry vintage tone. The guitar is also fitted with first-grade Gotoh hardware, including Magnum Lock tuners. The EKM100 comes complete with a luxurious Ibanez case.
Ibanez EKM100: Prestige features
This hollow-body guitar has been labelled as a Prestige model which means that it was built according to the highest standards and with the best components. The Ibanez EKM100 has a top, back and sides made of flamed maple with a chic, wine-red finish. The one-piece neck is made of mahogany and has an ebony fretboard with 22 frets which has graceful pearloid and abalone block inlays. The headstock features a beautiful inlay with Eric Krasno's initials.
High-quality Gotoh hardware
The Ibanez EKM100 has been equipped with gold-plated hardware by Gotoh for an extra stylish appearance. It has a 510BN Tune-o-matic bridge with saddles that can each be adjusted in height. They are complemented with a GE101A lightweight aluminium tailpiece for an extra open sound. Finally, you can find a set of Gotoh Magnum Lock tuners on the headstock. They do not only allow for a quicker and easier switching of strings but they also maintain the tuning of the guitar.
