Epiphone presenterar ES Collection E-335: en mer prisvärd version av den legendariska semiakustiska gitarren ES-335 som byggdes av moderbolaget Gibson, fullpackad med olika välkomna uppgraderingar. Den halvhålade lönnkroppen formar den omtyckta luftiga grunden medan den C-profilerade mahognyhalsen ger den här modellen en pålitlig, välbekant känsla. Förstärkt av två Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers spänner ljudet från denna elektroakustiska thinline över en rad olika tonala färger.
Inspirerad av Gibson ES-335: CTS-pottar, en GraphTech NuBone-mutter och LockTone-hårdvara
Elektroniksektionen i den slimmade ES-335 har laddats med äkta CTS-pottar medan en uppsättning Grover-maskinhus har kombinerats med en Graptech NuBone-mutter och Epiphones egen LockTone-stol och -stämstycke för att stödja ren intonation och stabil stämning. Toppad med den klassiska charmen av en Kalamazoo headstock, bär detta instrument distinkt Epiphone-stil.

Really playable out of the box, but a few tweaks make it even better.
Lemon oil on the fretboard, polish the frets, round the fret edges a bit better. These simples things make the guitar nicer to play.
The sound is really good. Unplugged, you can feel the resonance of the notes for quite a long time.
Whether you like these pickups will really depend on your taste. They sound pretty good if you want a rather soft sound: perfect for blues, jazz, or 60's rythm sounds. Some people might miss a bit of bite for more energic styles of music.
I could not justify the price of a Gibson considering what I could get with the Epiphone.

Net als Jan in een eerder post was ik onder de indruk van de Gibson ES 335, maar er staan nog wat andere dingen op mijn verlanglijst. Deze Epiphone komt kwa speelgevoel goed in de buurt, zeker als je meerekent dat de prijs 5 keer lager is.
